Coral Wonderland - The Under Water World of Melaka (photos sharing)

Coral Wonderland is located on the 4th Floor of Dataran Pahlawan Megamall (N2.19007 E102.25276), on top of the Carrefour Melaka Hypermart in the Mall. And it's and the end of the mall which close to the Equatorial Hotel of Malacca. The Aquarium is situated right in the heart of the historical city of Melaka, UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Malaysia.

"A journey into the unseen wonders of the deep will allow you to discover many fascinating underwater animals from various depths and ocean regions around the world.
Prepare to be surprised and amazed by the brightly colored live coral garden waving in the ocean current at the Coral Wonderland.

It's also the First and the Only Coral Park in Malaysia for the moment.

The ticket prices are :-
RM30 (Adult with MyKad), RM40 (Adult w/o MyKad)
RM20 (Child with MyKid 3-12 years old), RM30 (Child w/o MyKid)
RM20 (Senior citizen - above 60 years old)
Credit card is accepted.

We were given a piece of paper where we have to find the rubber stamp hidden at every corner in the aquarium to stamp the correct answer. It's a good education way for the visitors to know more information about the coral, fish...etc. After complete all the stamps, you can receive a souvenir from the Coral Wonderland. Great encouragement!

Once we stepped into the aquarium, there were many baby sharks appeared in front of us...

Then follow by a long touch pool where we can 'feel' the skin of every fishes and others live creatures...

After the 'Touch Pool', the journey started...

While I keep snapping, my daughter also followed and snap together! Nice!

The Living Fossil - Nautilus

"Nautilus (from Greek ναυτίλος, 'sailor') is the common name of pelagic marine mollusks of the cephalopod family Nautilidae, the sole extant family of the superfamily Nautilaceae and of its smaller but near equal suborder, Nautilina. It comprises six living species in two genera, the type of which is the genus Nautilus. Though it more specifically refers to species Nautilus pompilius, the name chambered nautilus is also used for any species of the Nautilidae." Source from Wikipedia.

I'm surprised that I can see the Nautilus in this Aquarium!

As usual, to the end of the journey in the Aquarium, we came to the Souvenirs area...but we didn't buy anything from there.

The Souvenirs Centre of Coral Wonderland, Malacca

Even the Aquarium is not very big, but we can witness and admiring the rare species in it, especially the Nautilus. It's worth for the ticket!

Walk along the Riverside of Malacca (Melaka) River (photos sharing)

Before dinner, we strolling along the Malacca River just behind the Best Western Wana Riverside Hotel. The starting point was from the Musical Fountain (N2.20013 E102.24806), the musical fountain start to 'Dance' every evening from 8pm - 11pm, if I'm not mistaken...

It was a cool evening and really relaxing walking...

There was a bridge not too far away from us, it's the Jambatan Pasar (Market Bridge). So we decided to cross to the other side of the riverbank...

Once we crossed the bridge, there were many murals painted on the building's wall...yes, many of them...

If time allow, I would like to capture all the murals photo in the area...there were really nice and some of them reflected the culture of Malacca (Melaka). By sitting at the riverbank and admiring the murals was one of my enjoyment during the evening...

After the buildings full of the street arts, we came to a row of cafes and pubs, these are the nightlife area of Jalan Kampung Hulu of Melaka town. Well, it's nice to have a cold draught beer while enjoy the cool breeze along the Malacca River...at least for me. :)

The cafe above was Not the only one but with full row of it...until the last shop was a Chinese Seafood Restaurant, the restaurant business was good while we passed by...I guess the seafood here must be delicious! :)

After the seafood restaurant, we reached the Hang Tuah Bridge, we decided to cross it again and back to the hotel because it was about dinner time...

Standing on the bridge and looking around on the both riverbank, hmm...this was the 'River' which started the Malacca (Melaka) Empire during the 1600s...and also the began of the Tanah Melayu which is Malaysia today.

Once we walk across the bridge, the row of pubs and cafes started to light up. Colourful and Nice!

We stopped at the place where we started and the whole riverbank walk is around 3.6km (with the proper pathway), which I'm intend to do it in the near future. It was really nice and enjoying walk along the river, where I can slowly view on all the colonial buildings which build on half century ago...

Beside this scenery, it is also a Good place for long exposure photography! Which I'm going to try it on the late evening...

Chew Jetty 姓周桥 (One of the Clan Jetty) - UNESCO World Heritage Site - Penang Island.

Once we finished strolling along the Armenian Street and Acheh Street, we continue our walking journey to Chew Jetty (the clan jetty in Penang) (N5.41292 E100.33962). This area became a Tourist hotspot many years ago, and there is a public parking area beside the main road of Pengalan Weld.

"Having been a home on stilts on the shores for the Chew Clan community more than a century and is still now, the Chew Jetty has withstood the test of time and a strong testament of living heritage for Penang and the world to mesmerize.
Started merely as a wooden passageway and slowly created into a cluster of houses perch above the sea shores by stilts above the never ending shifting tides, this communal site is locked in a time zone by itself, disregarding the urban development that is taking place around it."

The entrance to Chew Clan Jetty, Penang

There was a old and unique coffee shop (kopitiam) on the left of the entrance, I like the traditional atmosphere very much!
Before we start the tour in Chew Jetty, there were many signages to read though...

姓周桥 - Chew Jetty (Unesco World Heritage Site)
Established : Mid 19th Century
Ancestor's origin : Xinglingshe Village, TongAn District, Quangzhou Pretecture, Fujian Province - China.
Length : Part 1 - 182 meter, Part 2 - 122 meter
Total house : 75 units.

Leave your footprint, not rubbish...

Once we stepped in, the area was a bit similar with Kukup, Johor. The only different is Kukup is slowly upgraded to mostly concrete walkway and also the houses, but in Chew Jetty...most of it still remain in timber...the walkway and the houses...

The small alley above might connected to the part 2...I think...

We spotted the filming house in the movie of Ice Kacang Puppy Love ( 初恋红豆冰) which was the home of Eric Moo (巫啟賢).

Along the way, I saw this homestay signage...you can google it to find out more info about it...
I think that will be a totaly different experience to stay in the Clan Jetty, I wish I have a chance to stay there in the future...

We spotted another mural from Ernest Zacharevic - Children in the boat.

This mural will fade more faster than others I believe, it's because nearby the sea...

We hanged around the area for a while and luckily that was not very hot, the scenic view really made us relax...and I like the surrounding...

I think the ferries are provide the convenience for the local to go to other clan jetty, because this is not the only clan jetty around here...there are Tan Jetty, Lee Jetty, Mixed Clan Jetty and Yeoh Jetty located not too far away...

I had a chat with an old lady who selling some souvenirs along the walkway in Chew Jetty. She was friendly and told us that all the youngsters have gone for work, and most of them are not staying here anymore...they only back once in the while and during Chinese New Year. So I guess, the place will be crowded during the coming Chinese New Year.
